Sadly, this is no joke...

Hooded jacket covers up your monitor for glareless gameplay. (Boing Boing)

I had a resident who put a bath towel (clean or dirty I'll never know) and draped it over his head and monitor so he could play start/warcraft glare free with people in Austrailia at 3am in the morning.

Running Bill, so called because he ran to class the rare times he attended due to his gaming addiction, might have used it to be nice to his room mate and not lighting up the room with monitor shine...but my guess he did it for the glare.

Just thinking about it brings back memories...might have to go find some of those old pictures and flickr em.

My solution to a glare free gaming environment? White christmas lights hung from the drop ceiling using paperclips. Bright enough to see, dim enough to be comfortable while gaming. Haven't done that in the basement yet, but it's a possibility.
