I am not a librarian

But that doesn't mean I can share in the celebration of a co-worker.

First and foremost, I have to thank the powers that be for sticking Edh and Suellen back by by the *has a discussion with Pink for the word used for the home that Hobbits live in...that is...what type of living quarter is Bag End?*...Hobbit hole that was my desk. I was cozy, but a little disruption was necessary, with a side of Youth Services energy, and it made it all the more enjoyable.

Plus, Edh is known for breaking the internetz.

Anyhoo, Edh gets all bubbly excited for reading an email. I think I might have even heard some clapping, but I can't be too sure. I ask what's going on and I can tell she was excited because I could see her head bob above the cubicle wall as she came around to tell me the good news.

"You're not going to believe this!" (I can neither confirm nor deny she said this, however, most estrogen dominant persons tend to start a conversation of this magnitude this way)

"What's up?"

"I'm on the Edward's Committee!"

I had just finished watching the Narnia special features on DVD, so I could have sword I heard Edmond. For about .395853 seconds I started my illogical transgression down that road, then I stopped.

Blue...you know the "big" name book awards, but not this one.

"What's the 'Edward's Comittee?'"

Edh's face turns into the exact face I had just made:
My face: I'm an idiot for not knowing this.
Edh face: He's an idiot for not knowing this.

So, I get the rundown of what the award is about, but the point that catches my ear is that she was nominated to the committee, and by her reaction, she didn' t nominate herself, but rather that someone had nominated her.

And...per her reading habits...I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be able to read whatever nominated books they throw at her.

So, while my reaction sort of deadpanned her parade, it's still awesome that she got nominated to the committee!

She earned it though. I've been working on a database and have been constantly have to bombard her with a percussions rendition of [Ctrl]+V, Down Arrow, [Ctrl]+V, Down Arrow, [Ctrl]+V, Down Arrow, [Ctrl]+V, Down Arrow, [Ctrl]+V, Down Arrow, [Ctrl]+V, Down Arrow. And mind you, not at a slow pace either. We're talkin close to 180 beats per minute.

To a percussionist, it's music. To the other 99.9% of the world, it's annoying.

Congrats Edh. I prolly got the name of the Committee wrong, but you rock!

awwww :) I didn't deserve a whole post about me today, especially not after breaking the internet. Again. Repeatedly.

Anyways, I totally didn't think I would be electable. Especially not after, you know, I BREAK THE INTERNETS.

Yay! Congrats to Erin! We're all so lucky to work with her!

And you know, breakin' the internet is a rite of passage...if you haven't broken it at least once, you're not taking enough risks... (spoken as a webbie, not a true techie, i'm sure) ;)
